Description
Abiflox (Levofloxacin) Solution for Infusion 500 mg/100 ml.
Composition
- Each 100 ml. solution contains 500 mg. of levofloxacin.
- Other ingredients: sodium chloride, hydrochloric acid, and water for injection.
Indications
Abiflox Solution for Infusion is indicated for the treatment of the following infections in adults:
- Nosocomial pneumonia
- Community-acquired pneumonia
- Acute exacerbation of chronic bronchitis
- Acute pyelonephritis
- Complicated urinary tract infections
- Prostatitis
Dosage and Administration
- The recommended dosage is 500 mg. once daily administered as a 60-minute intravenous infusion.
- The infusion solution should be administered only by the intravenous route.
- Abiflox Solution for Infusion should be administered by intravenous infusion over a period of 60 minutes.
- The duration of treatment depends on the type and severity of infection, and typically ranges from 3 to 14 days.
Contraindications
Abiflox is contraindicated in patients with a known hypersensitivity to levofloxacin or any other quinolone antibiotic.
Precautions and Warnings
Appropriate monitoring and surveillance measures should be taken during the course of treatment. Patients should be advised to discontinue treatment and contact their doctor if they experience any severe adverse reactions.
Storage
Abiflox Solution for Infusion should be stored at 15-30°C, protected from light.
