Description
Abizol (Aripiprazole) Tablets 10 mg.
Composition
- Each tablet contains 10 mg. of aripiprazole.
- Other ingredients: lactose monohydrate, microcrystalline cellulose, croscarmellose sodium, hypromellose, magnesium stearate, and titanium dioxide.
Indications
Abizol (aripiprazole) is indicated for the treatment of:
- Schizophrenia in adults and adolescents aged 15 years and older.
- Manic or mixed episodes of bipolar I disorder in adults and in adolescents aged 13 years and older.
- Adjunctive treatment of major depressive disorder in adults.
Dosage and Administration
Schizophrenia
The recommended starting and maintenance dose is 10 or 15 mg. once daily, with or without food.
Bipolar I Disorder
The recommended starting dose is 15 mg. once daily as monotherapy or 10-15 mg. once daily as adjunctive therapy with lithium or valproate. The maintenance dose is 15 mg. once daily.
Major Depressive Disorder
The recommended starting dose is 5-10 mg. once daily as adjunctive treatment to antidepressants. The maintenance dose is 5-10 mg. once daily.
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to aripiprazole or any of the excipients.
Precautions and Warnings
Patients should be monitored for the development of suicidal thoughts or behaviors, akathisia, and extrapyramidal symptoms.
Adverse Reactions
The most common adverse reactions include nausea, vomiting, constipation, headache, dizziness, and insomnia.
Storage
Store at 15-30°C, in the original package to protect from light and moisture.
Keep out of the reach of children.
