Accupril tablets 20 mg are used to treat hypertension and heart failure in adults, starting at 20 mg once daily and increasing up to 80 mg per day with caution in certain patients.

Description

Accupro (Quinapril) Coated Tablets 20 mg, 30 Tablets

Composition

  • Each coated tablet contains 20 mg. of quinapril hydrochloride.
  • Other ingredients: lactose monohydrate, microcrystalline cellulose, crospovidone, magnesium stearate, opadry white, and quinaprilat.

Indications

Accupro tablets are indicated for the treatment of:

  • Hypertension
  • Heart failure

Dosage and Administration

The recommended starting dose for adults is 20 mg. taken once daily.

The dosage may be increased gradually, as needed, up to a maximum of 80 mg. per day, taken in one or two divided doses.

The tablets should be swallowed whole with a glass of water, with or without food.

Contraindications

  • Hypersensitivity to quinapril, other ACE inhibitors, or any of the excipients
  • History of angioedema related to previous ACE inhibitor therapy
  • Hereditary or idiopathic angioedema
  • Pregnancy and lactation

Precautions and Warnings

Caution is advised in patients with renal impairment, severe heart failure, or hypovolemia.

Adverse Reactions

The most common adverse reactions include cough, dizziness, headache, and fatigue.

Store at 15-25°C, in the original package to protect from light and moisture.
