Description
Accuzid-20 (Quinapril and Hydrochlorothiazide) Coated Tablets 20 mg/12.5 mg, 30 Tablets
Composition
- Each coated tablet contains 20 mg. of quinapril hydrochloride and 12.5 mg. of hydrochlorothiazide.
- Other ingredients: lactose monohydrate, microcrystalline cellulose, crospovidone, magnesium stearate, opadry white, and quinaprilat.
Indications
Accuzid-20 tablets are indicated for the treatment of:
- Hypertension (high blood pressure)
Dosage and Administration
The recommended starting dose for adults is 1 tablet (20 mg. quinapril/12.5 mg. hydrochlorothiazide) taken once daily.
The dosage may be adjusted as needed, up to a maximum of 40 mg. quinapril/25 mg. hydrochlorothiazide per day, taken in one or two divided doses.
The tablets should be swallowed whole with a glass of water, with or without food.
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to quinapril, hydrochlorothiazide, other ACE inhibitors or sulfonamides, or any of the excipients
- History of angioedema related to previous ACE inhibitor therapy
- Hereditary or idiopathic angioedema
- Pregnancy and lactation
Precautions and Warnings
Caution is advised in patients with renal impairment, severe heart failure, or hypovolemia.
Adverse Reactions
The most common adverse reactions include dizziness, headache, fatigue, and metabolic disturbances.
Storage
Store at 15-25°C, in the original package to protect from light and moisture.
Keep out of the reach of children.
